From Abandonment to Independence 🌸
Neha Shukla, a 25-year-old woman from Ashiyana, Lucknow

Neha Shukla, a 25-year-old woman from Ashiyana, Lucknow, comes from a family that has always struggled to make ends meet. Her father, Mr. Shashikant Shukla, sells puri-bhaji on a small cart, her mother, Mrs. Manju Shukla, works as a cook in nearby houses, and her brother Ashish supports their father in daily work. Her two sisters, Khushboo and Priyanka, are pursuing their graduation from a nearby college.
Neha’s life took a heartbreaking turn when her husband abandoned her after four years of marriage—simply because she gave birth to a girl child. Left alone in the hospital with her newborn daughter, Roli, Neha returned to her parents’ home, shattered and anxious about her child’s future. Today, Roli studies in UKG, and Neha’s biggest fear was how she would educate and support her.
Hope arrived when Neha learned about a Free Sewing Skill Training Workshop being organized in her area. With determination, she enrolled and learned to stitch different garments under the guidance of qualified trainers.
After completing the workshop, Neha began sewing clothes from her own home. What started as a skill soon became a source of income—and dignity. She is now financially independent, supports her family, and has even found the confidence to continue her own studies.
